Hiya Icct H.!

Thanks for the kind words. Hmm. I suppose it's not so much a conscious choice as much as it is just the way it goes, you know? We don't tour much—two very short tours in our 12+ year existence—and that definitely doesn't help much at all. Other than that I can't really extend an answer, as I don't really have one. I've always thought that the songs, in general, aren't really the type that strike immediately, instead taking a few listens to start to sink in (if they do at all). That also doesn't help much, I suppose.

Either way I'm really happy with the audience that we have. They've always proven incredibly loyal and amazingly receptive, and are seemingly never afraid to tell me exactly what they think of the material!

Thanks for the message...

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your music but something keeps nagging me. I am constantly suprised how little known you are given your caliber. Judging by the lack of press and lyrics posted online I would judge this a conscious choice but Im just never sure if its that or if its the fact that I live so far out in the middle of podunk nowhere that your genius has yet to penerate my little part of the US

Hiya Jimmy.

I'm not sure where the CDs are available in the UK. I know they're around, but I imagine they're tough to find.

Sure you can order via the site! You can find all available releases from the merchandise page above. Be sure to choose the proper shipping at the top of that page before sending your order.

Let me know if you need anything...

It's going to be a digital-only release and will be available in January at eMusic and in the iTunes store.

Hey Jason!

Thanks for the message. Yes, I'm actually starting work on a new album pretty soon (i've probably got enough music written for two!), but it's likely to be a long process as I'll be working with a lot of guest musicians this time and will probably be recording it myself. I'll be sure to keep everyone up-to-date here on the site.

Meanwhile the Twelve Rooms Special Edition release (via iTunes and eMusic) will land in January and has 9 extra songs. I'll be adding a couple of clips from that to the site soon, so check back.

Thanks!

Hey Jonathan!

Yeah, I've heard that our albums are sometimes hard to find in NY. Not sure why our distributor doesn't get them there - it seems like the most obvious place.

Anyway, thanks for all the hard work. Hope it was all worth it in the end!

Hi Palaxy Tracks.

Just wanted to let you know that I hunted all over looking for a copy of 12 songs. Maybe that isn't too rare, but I'm in New York CIty! Kim's, Other Music, Sounds, Earwax, none of them had the record. I found it used at Academy and had to have it, and it is a great great record. I love Cederland, and needed something new from you. Blah blah, my main point is, you have got to get your records into these NYC stores! I don't know how they hadn't heard of you guys. I just don't want Palaxy tracks to fall through the Palaxy cracks.

P.S. I just ordered your old record and the insound sampler to make up for my sin of buying 12 Rooms used. Happy new year, all my best.

Do keep in touch. Talk soon.

“Palaxy Tracks’ third full-length sees the band discovering the gas pedal while keeping everything bathed in the sepia tones of faded photographs.”

“Expansive songwriting yields a richness of sound and feeling that culminates in the gorgeous eight-minute title track.”

“One wants to be eternally surrender to the attacks of pieces such as the meticously balanced “Grey Snake”…”

“Although constructed in relatively basic fashion—only occasionally do instruments like a pump organ or a violin show up to augment the guitar-bass-drums setup—the sound this Chicago quartet generates is anything but simplistic.”

  THE NAME - EXPLAINED

Ever wonder where we got the name Palaxy Tracks? Well now you don't have to wonder anymore. Go here for the full, completely uninteresting story. It involves dinosaurs, the occult, and creationist theories. Mmmm... juicy.
